December 31: The Dhananjayans perform for Narada Gana Sabha, 7.30pm

December 28: The Dhananjayans perform Bhakti Maargam for Brahma Gana Sabha, Sivagami Pethachi auditorium, 7pm

December 27: The dhananjayans receive the Award of Excellence from Kartik Fine Arts, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, 9.30am

December 27: Anita Ranjini from USA - for AIMA, Besant Nagar Pillayar Koil, 5pm Shoba Sarma's student and one of our student in Yogaville FAS summer camps.

December 26: Shoba Sharma - Narada Gana Sabha, 2pm One of our senior most disciples who was in lime light in Chennai in the 70s and 80's. She is performing in Chennai after a long gap of nearly 12 years. She is a stunning Bharatanaatyam dancer, who would have ruled the stage had she been in Chennai. She is quite a celebrity in the US especially in the East coast. (NY, Phil, DC etc)

December 23: Divya Siva - Besant Nagar Pillayar Koil, 7-9pm AIMA presents Divya Siva (senior disciple of The Dhananjayans, winner of this year's YUVAKALA BHAARATI AWARD FROM BHARATA KALACHAR) (DO NOT MISS beautiful Bharatanaatyam).

December 22: V.P.Dhananjayan inaugurates TVG's AIMA, Besant Nagar Pillayar Koil, 6.30pm Inaugural address on 'ART MANAGEMENT' - problems & solutions.

December 19: Gopukiran - Narada Gana Sabha, 2pm One of the best "Nartaka" Bharatanaatyam male dancer in the city today. A totally dedicated professional artiste. He is doing the lead role in our new production 'Srikrishna Jananam' on January 7th 2009 at Music Academy.

December 19: Sringar-an ode to beauty - Savera Hotel, 10am Audio visual presentation by Smt. Rupa Gopal with Dhananjayan's 'Kasturi Tilakam', Abhinaya prayer.

December 12: Release of Documentary film(DVD) by Radhika Shurajit, Bharat Kalachar, 8pm Release of Documentary film (DVD) by Radhika Shurajit on THE DHANANJAYANS by Hon Home Minister P.CHIDAMBARAM.

SRIKRISHNA JANANAM, a new production commemorating the 40th anniversary of Bharatakalanjali was premiered for ISKCON, Bangalore for their annual Festival from November 26th to 30th. (Scenes from Ramanatakam & Thyaagaraaja Vaibhavam also were staged in the ISKCON festival on 27th & 28th Nov).

The Dhananjayans' toured USA with BHAKTI-MAARGAM
Living legends of an ancient tradition, The Dhananjayans were on their "farewell" tour of North America with one of their senior and prominent disciples, Padmarani Rasiah Cantu (Artistic Director FAS Yogaville and selected Artiste in the Virginia Commission for the Arts Tour Directory).
The Dhananjayans presented BHAKTI MAARGAM (The path of devotion) in the best traditions of Bharatanaatyam. The presentation consisted of a traditional Maargam repertoire featuring the best of their fifty years of artistic excellence in choreography.

Bharatakalanjali artistes presented a few folk items from the "Aikya Bharatam" repertoire at Narada Gana sabha for the celebration of 250th episode of JAYA TV's "TA-KA-DHI-MI-TA" directed by Bharatakalanjali's senior most alumni Smt. Radhika Shurjit. This was a mega event represented by all institutions and stalwarts in the field who have appeared in this very successful TV show in Jaya TV channel on every Sunday morning at 8 a.m.

Kathakali Puraskaram 08 to Kalamandalam Gopi Asaan:
Shanta & Dhananjayan with Divya shiva & Gopu Kiran (senior disciples of the Dhananjayans) gave a Bharatanaatyam performance under the auspices of Kerala Kalamandalam on the occasion of the Annual 'Kathakali Puraskaaram" given by the Government of Kerala, Dept of art & Culture. The program was attended by Hon Minister M.A.Baby, Rev Minister Rajendran, Film actor Mohanlal, Poet O.M.V Kurup, Dr. Paulose (VC Kalamandalam) and several other very prominent luminaries in the art & cultural field. The program was held in the renovated Regional theater of Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academy, on 27th May 08.

GANA MUKUNDAPRIYA TRUST, dedicated to the cause of educating public through Music and Naatya organised a series of Lecture demonstrations on the aspects of Naatya & Sangeetam. The first in the series, spread over a period of one year was inaugurated on Sunday, 24th February 08 at 10.30am to 1 noon at R.K.Swamy Hall, 5, SundareswararKoil Street, Mylapore. Naatyaachaarya Sri. V.P.Dhananjayan inaugurated the series with his keynote address on ART IN EDUCATION (Naatya-the living art-facts & fictions). All art enthusiasts, educationalists and all students benefited by this educative lecture series.
